QuietComfort 35 II Headphones from Bose are Rumored to have Google Assistant Built-in

There's been a lot of chatter about a device with the codename "Bisto" for the better part of the year so far. We first reported on this back in April when an APK teardown of a new Google App update referenced it as a new device type. Later that month we speculated that some headphones for Google employees could be the mysterious device known as Bisto and while those carried a different codename, we were getting close to the answer. It looks like Google is referring to 'smart headphones' when it uses the codename Bisto, and a new pair from Bose called QuietComfort 35 II that has Google Assistant Built-in.

We've seen a number of 'smart' products released over the last couple of years and each one has a different meaning. Sometimes it just means they're connected to a network and can be controlled by an application. Other times, like what we're seeing with this pair of headphones from Bose, is that they just have some technology built into them to add additional functionality. Google seems to be going all in on the headphone accessory too as a new category for them was spotted on their support page.

A new rumor from 9to5Google cites Bose documentation as the source of this information. This was seemingly confirmed by a couple of uploaded photos that were posted to /r/Android that shows the front and back of the retail box for these QuietComfort 35 II Bose headphones. There wasn't much information to go on at first other than the rumor stating the headphones would be Google Assistant-enabled and that they would be noise cancellation over-the-ear headphones.

With the new images uploaded online though, we can see what are likely to be the headphones in question. We can see there's a button on the side of them which is activated when you press and hold it for a few seconds. You'll then speak the Google Assistant command naturally and get the results directly in your ear from the headphones. The box says you can even 'unlock more features' with the Bose Connect App, and that the pair will last up to 20 hours per charge.
