Gmail's Nudges feature now available to remind you of important emails HTC U12+... xda-developers May 17, 2018 9:30 PM • by Doug Lynch Gmail's Nudges feature now available to remind you of important emails Gmail has so many users (more than 1 billion monthly active users) that even the smallest of new features can have a tremendous impact on how the world interacts with emails. Back in March, we told you that Google was preparing a "Nudges" feature that would suggest emails to you that the service believes you should reply and follow up on. Now, it appears that the feature is starting to roll out to users. The new Nudges feature can be found in Settings for a particular Gmail account. Ever since Google shifted from a mobile-first company to an AI-first one, we have watched as their services have received feature after feature that leverages their machine learning technology. Millions of people shifted from Gmail to Inbox due to the smart features that Inbox added, and now those same smart features are slowly being added to the core Gmail service. Smart Reply and Smart Compose were announced during Google I/O 2018, but the new nudges feature was not announced during the event. Within the settings section of the Gmail application, you will find a "reply and follow up" section where you can configure how this new feature works. One toggle controls whether Gmail will suggest emails that it thinks you should reply to in case you may have forgotten to respond to them. The second toggle will allow Gmail to suggest emails that it thinks you need to follow up on. This can be an email where you have told someone that you will get back with them in X amount of days, or just a reminder about an event in which you were talking to someone about. You will be able to enable or disable both of these features and if enabled, the suggested emails will appear at the top of your inbox. The new features appear to be enabled by default and should start showing up for most users already. The U12+ from HTC will be IP68 rated for water resistance and also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ along with Wireless charging technology. According to the rumored specifications, it will be featuring a 5.5-inch Quad HD+ (2880 x 1440 pixels) Super LCD 6 display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. Under the hood, there will be an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with Adreno 630 GPU and 8 GB of RAM. The onboard storage is limited to 128GB which can be extended further up to a maximum of 2TB via microSD card slot. It will come out of the box with Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC Sense UI. There are 12MP HTC UltraPixel 4 rear cameras with f/1.5 aperture dual LED flash and OIS and a secondary 16MP rear camera. There will be an 8MP + 8MP dual front camera set for better selfies. It will come with connectivity options like 4G VoLTE and Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, A-GPS and more. Apart from there are other features like USB-C audio, HTC USonic with Active Noise Cancellation, HTC's BoomSound Hi-Fi edition, Hi-Res audio certified, USB Type-C and NFC.
